Johnstone Safety Products, established in 1964, is one of Europe’s leading personal protective equipment manufacturers, with 40 million people wearing its safety products. This documentary is recording its history which draws out memories from staff about how the company started in the early 1960s up to the present day.
“John has the uncanny knack of drawing interesting facts out of people, that amazes me. He has been extremely focused in helping me to think about what I want included in the film, and giving it the right structure to meet my difficult brief. It is a pleasure to work with such an interesting and perceptive person.”
Clive Johnstone, Chairman, Johnstone Safety Products
‘Back from Resettlement’ is a retrospective documentary spanning 50 years, when the Canadian government forced the community to leave their homes in Placentia Bay and resettle to small communities like Arnolds Cove, Newfoundland in the 1960s.
Commissioned by the town of Arnolds Cove, it is a nostalgic and emotional reminder of past times, with some political insight from Ministers of the day.
